About us...
Our Redeemer Lutheran Church is located in Grand Prairie, Texas, in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. We are located south of Interstate 20, at the corner of S. Carrier Parkway and Polo Road, right next to Friendship Park. We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (or ELCA) and we are located in the Northern Texas-Northern Louisiana Mission Area or Synod.
What to expect at ORLC
At ORLC, our worship services are liturgical (following historical formats) but we are also a fairly casual congregation. We use many different kinds of musical styles in our worship services, including traditional hymns and chanting, contemporary songs, and world music. Our services typically include singing, listening to Scripture, a sermon, prayer, and the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Our congregation is made up of many different ages, from infant/toddlers all the way up!
Are my children welcome, too?
Yes! We love having children in our worship services. While we have a nursery area (including toys and a changing table), we hope you will keep your kids in worship with us so they can learn and participate! Youth and children can participate in both Wednesday and Sunday services in a variety of ways.
New to our worship space is our Creation Station, where kids are welcome to make a special creation based on the theme of the day. These creations are then mailed to our homebound members to brighten their day.
I'm not so sure about church. Can I visit to try things out?
Of course you can. We are ready to welcome you, however often you want to visit.
I want to be a part of a church but can't be there on Sunday mornings. What other days do you have services?
Beginning in 2012, we began to discern a need for people to have an alternative day to attend worship services. We began holding regular services on Wednesday evenings, and we didn't look back! We now meet every Wednesday evening at 7pm for a shorter, simpler, but meaningful worship experience that includes Scripture, song, prayer, and Holy Communion.
